When it comes to office chairs
, people are very “general”, they see an office chair, and think simply that, its a chair, for the office, anyone can sit in it for any amount of time, but that is rather wide of the mark.
Just like anything else out there which you are going to spend prolonged periods of time in – a car, clothes, a bed – an office chair is often a very specialised piece of equipment, and when purchasing an office chair either for yourself or a member of staff, you should always take into consideration the requirements of those who will be using the chair above anything else.
Some key points to take into consideration before purchase are:
- Size Of The User – Is the person using this chair tall, or of a larger build? Office chair sizes can vary and you need to make sure that you can comfortably fit in it every day.
- Frequency Of Usage – Is this office chair going to be sat in for 10 minutes per day, or 10 hours? If it’s for prolonged usage, such as a standard 8 hour working day, then a comfortable chair with lumbar support should be brought (office chairs suitable for 8 hour usage are clearly marked in our stock).
- Users Condition – Does the person using the chair have any health problems? back pains or arthritis for example, where they may require a chiropractor approved ergonomic chair.
